TLC Resource of the Week – Academic Search Complete

TLC Resource of the Week Banner

This week’s resource is one of the JALC Library online databases: Academic Search Complete.  The database is available both on campus and off campus to faculty and students (see links below).  The library has also created a video tutorial for using Academic Search Complete.

Academic Search Complete

Description: Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary full-text database that features scholarly peer reviewed journals, as well as articles from magazines, newspapers, books, and more. It is updated on a daily basis and includes content written from 1887 to the present. Unlike Google Scholar, all articles are free, there are no advertisements, and clear citation information is offered. Academic Search Complete is useful for research of all levels and can be considered relative to all classes that are offered at John A. Logan College.   For a detailed description and list of resources included in the database see the EBSCO website.

For on-campus access go here, click the databases tab, and select “Academic Search Complete” from the list.

For off-campus access go here, click the “Off Campus Access to Databases” link, login using your JALC login credentials, then select “Academic Search Complete” from the list.
